The Detour is a made-in-India fanny pack in 210D ripstop nylon and 500D recycled polyester — slim, structured and no bulk, with two pockets to keep phone, cards, keys and a compact camera in their place. FAQ
How do you wear a fanny pack?
Three ways, and they suit different situations. At the waist for walking, markets and festivals — it keeps weight off your shoulders entirely. Across the chest, which sits higher and is easier to reach into while moving. Or at the front, crossbody, which is what most people in Indian cities settle on: your things stay in your line of sight on a crowded metro and out of reach on a two-wheeler.
What fits inside the Detour?
22.1 × 11.4 × 5.1 cm, roughly 1.2 litres, across two pockets: phone, wallet, cards, keys, earbuds, a cable, cash and a passport. A compact point-and-shoot camera will also go in on its own.
Will a camera fit?
A compact point-and-shoot, yes. A mirrorless or DSLR body will not, with or without a lens attached — and there is no padding in this bag. If you are carrying a camera setup, look at the Off-route sling or the Memento.
Is the strap adjustable?
Yes — the strap adjusts across the full range needed to wear it at the waist, across the chest or crossbody at the front.
Is it waterproof?
Water-resistant, not waterproof. The PU-coated ripstop and PVC-coated lining handle rain and spray, but seams and zips are not sealed, so it is not submersible.
